How the Script Mapping Logic Works

The conversion engine operates locally in your web browser, substituting standard ASCII letters with alternative characters from the Unicode library. The generator supports both light and bold script presets:

• Mathematical Script (script): Replaces letters with code points from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block. Lowercase letters map to range U+1D4B6 through U+1D4D9 (e.g., a becomes 𝓪). Uppercase letters map to range U+1D49C through U+1D4B5 (e.g., A becomes 𝓐).
• Mathematical Bold Script (boldScript): Maps capital letters to range U+1D4D0 through U+1D503 (e.g., B becomes 𝓑) and lowercase letters to range U+1D4EA through U+1D51D (e.g., b becomes 𝓫).
• Unicode Legacy Exceptions: Although modern math scripts reside in the Alphanumeric Symbols block, several script characters were registered in earlier Unicode versions. For example, uppercase script B resides in the Letterlike Symbols block at U+212C (ℬ), script E at U+2130 (ℰ), script F at U+2131 (ℱ), and script H at U+210B (ℋ). The mapping engine accounts for these exceptions to ensure standard letters map correctly.

Since these cased letters are recognized globally in the Unicode standard, modern operating system font renderers display the handwritten curves and connections automatically.

Platform Constraints & Compatibility

• Search Discoverability Limitations: Search engine spiders index cased symbols literally as mathematical variables.
